My gas tank on the farmall c that I was restoring had rust and gas varnish in it. What I did was put rocks in it along with some minerial spirits and shake it. when you get tired from it, let it sit till later on and shake it some more. I did it for 2 days on and off and my tank was clean inside. Of couse you have to then clean out the tank real good and you have to remove the tank. It"s been 10 years and it still doesnt have any signs of rust. Good luck
