Use that special tool that the tractor vet suggested or just a piece of 1/2 inch thick bar a ft or 2 long. Put something on the pto shaft to hold it from turning. I have an old PTO shaft yolk that I use with a bar though it. Put the PTO in gear. This hold the counter shaft and the nut on the front from turning. Now put the 1/2 inch thick bar or the Tractor Vet tool in the slot of the nut and apply torque in the counter clockwise direction. If the nut is stubborn, a few sharp raps on the bar with a 2 pound hammer should do the trick or if you have an air impact wrench and the tractor vet tool and you can get that up in there, that will do it.
