Just go to a muffler shop and have them bend a 180 piece of tibing to mount the muffler. Take a piece of 1 1/2 pipe and the muffler so they can make it fit have been using this set up for years as like you say trees have branches and you will even like the sound. You mite want a bracket on the outlet pipe of the muffler.
