I have had great success with a trick that a millwright taught me years ago. First take the set screw out then add oil to threads and then start the engine and let the old belt work it loose, after about 15 to 20 minutes of idle turn the engine off and 9 times out 10 it will be loose I still use this method today at the Feed Mill to loosen shives and pulleys.
