I have found tool rental stores willing to rent them for $15 for 4 hrs. The size is as the Tractor Vet indicates below. They are Pipe thread sizes which are measured (approximately) on the inside of the pipe. The actual tapered part of the cutting edges will be larger than the indicated size.
Use a small wire wheel to preclean the manifold so the tap enters on the old threads precisely.
