Guy says the production numbers and the serial numbers often do not coincide, perhaps because they are not always consecutive. BUT, if you subtract 500 from the last 450 serial number you get 25567 450's produced instead of the 18305 Guy lists as the total, so it is apparantly wrong. If you add his production numbers you get 25589, which I suppose is in the range of error when Guy tried to sort out all the data. (All this really doesn't relate to Big John's original post). In Guy's defense it is very hard for any writer to keep everything straight. Been there, attempted to do that.
