I picked up a 485 recently (just a bit newer) and I am very pelased with it. I understand the front end can get a bit loose. There are shims available for the pivot bearing. There is also a difficult to access grease nipple between the crankshaft pully and the front cross bar that will prevent wear on the shims. There is also a sneaky grease fitting on the clutch bearing. You have to remove the inspection plate to access it. The clutch bearing is a live bearing which turns all the time. This can give you the feel that the clutch needs adjustment. To examine clutch wear you have to remove the inspection plate. Grease and filter changes brought mine back to factory spec's on the dynamo. Nice little machine.
