Some 20 years ago, I pulled a complete seat unit off of an old F-20 in a salvage yard. I was working on some F-12s at the time and really had no use for it, but it was about the only thing left on the tractor that looked like it was worth saving. I did not think any more about it until I went to a show and saw that all the F-20 seat units had a pressed steel base on them where they bolt to the tractor.---The one I have has a Cast Iron base where the chanel iron arm fits into it. Might this have been used on the early F-20s and then changed to pressed steel after breakage problems, or maybe the pressed steel was cheaper to produce ?? I have never seen another one of these cast units in the 20 years I have been going to shows. Granted, this is not the most interesting topic, but it has always bugged me. I know that alot of collectors out there like to be able to point out the small changes or options on the same model tractor at the shows. John in Pa.
