Some posts awhile back showed some of you are familar with these tractors, so I was hoping you could give me some insights. Bought a Case-IH CX 90 with low hours a few months ago and has been great. But recently the shuttle shift (forward - reverse) on the steering column seems to have locked-up. The transmission (range and main) and clutch all seem to be working normally. When I try and move the shuttle lever out of the middle neutral area - either forward or back the tractor starts to go that direction and then any additional pressure results in gears starting to grind (even with the clutch pushed in). I can start the tractor with the shuttle in forward or reverse, but the high-low range lever must be in neutral and then it starts to grind with an attempt to put it into gear. Any suggestions - I'm not in the position to readily load this thing up and haul to a dealer. Thank you very much for any suggestions or recommendations. Any affordable repair manuals out there for this tractor (dealer $475 repair/$116 parts)?
