Haha!! Do you like McDonald's french fries. A few years back they were cooked in animal oil also. Reason why, it took longer for the oil to go bad because of an extra kink in the structure of the molecule. They get told they can't use animal oil and have to use vegetable oil. So, what does McD's do? They convert it to hydrogenated vegatable oil, giving it the same basic molecular structure as the animal oil, so it will last just as long.
This is no just a HOAX. This was in the lecture of my animal science class in the spring of 2002.
