Carp. the first thing i would do on this one is run a pressure check on the MCV , on the bottom lower right hand corner there is a plug that takes a 7/8 inch wrench this plug has a o/ring on it and it takes a JIC fitting install a pressure gauge there that will take atleast 600 lbs and see if ya have somewhere around 225 lbs i like to have them running around 260-280 . Now there is a littel lag time on brake responce and also on the shift this is normal, but i would have to be able to check it myself as to what would be ok or tomuch lag. . To do a good test on the T/A ya have to get them out somewhere that you can get it up into 3rd or 4th High range at full throttel and load the brakes to bring the engine down under load say down to 1400-1500 RPM and pull the T/A back into low BUT have your foot on the clutch pedal as if it stops shove the clutch down because it may stop for a second or two then grab and throw you off the seat over the back. If it stops or has a long lag and grabs hard then the sprag is out or almost out . There could be and issue with the springs in the MCV or the valves in there Most of that can be fixed with a new spring kit if the spools are not shot. If ya got any other questions give me a call.
