The issue that you are talking about refers to putting LIVE hydraulics off of the later super series, and hundred series tractors on h"s and m"s. If you do want to put a live pump on the front of the motor, then yes, breaking cam gears can and will happen unless you also install the front plate and gear out of the donor tractor.

Putting on two way hydraulics is just a matter of adding a two way open center valve (like off of a log splitter, or the original Christmas tree set up), a return to the belly pump reservoir, and the double acting cylinders.
