Otis If you look in the parts and supply section of this site, rebuild kit prices for the A can be found. About $500 to $600. If the owner had to have machine work done, the total cost could be another $100 to $250 (crankshaft and head work). Everybody wants something for their labor, so add $200 more. The engine rebuild cost could be significantly less depending on what the current owner had to overhaul. Ask the owner for reciepts of parts and labor purchases. Look at the oil pressure and check the dip stick for clean oil. Remove the oil bath air cleaner to check for cleaniness. Look at the radiator coolant. Best of Luck. Ray Medley (medfarm)
