Aluminum carburator bowl

Ive got an aluminim carburator bowl that fits Faramll M-806 carbs. Im wondering what these were made for. has IH part number same as M, and same metering stem design as the SH-450. The metering stem does not thread into the carb bowl, but is retained by the brass plug at the bottom. Any ideads on what they used this aluminum carb bowl for? and why made from aluminum? Was there ever an aluminum throttle body produced too? Thanks! ChadS
