I was welding a hitch under a friend's pickup. I was on my side and a piece of hot slag went down my ear, burning a hole in my eardrum. Hurt pretty bad. I never thought about it then but afterward I realized a person's ear is kind of shaped like a funnel. Now if I'm welding underneath anything I wear ear plugs. Live & learn
