To do it with what you already have,
Go to Mapquest, get it to show the map you want. If you then click "Printer Friendly" it'll show a larger version. Right click on the map, then click "Copy Image."
Start Paint, click "Edit" then "Paste."
Then you can mark it up as you wish and save it where you want.
