Agreed on the estate issue. You'd be surprised (or maybe not) that lifelong family members will fight and hate each other's guts for the rest of their life over who gets the wedding rings or the kitchen table. They can't be split up. Then put them up for auction and they won't even bid on something they were ready to kill for not long ago. Even when a portion of the money comes back to them. Seen it happen too many times. Go figure. Put that in the will to start with and you avoid some of the family grabbagging and infighting. Many would rather their kids just work it out.
I got my grandpa's 47 studebaker pickup at his auction for $150. He had 10 kids who split a few personal items but sold the rest at auction. Had military duty and wasn't there but my uncle bid for me. 150 was my max. Never asked who else bid on it.
