You need to bring No1 piston to TDC on the compression stroke. Remove No1 sparkplug and hold your thumb over the plug hole until you feel compression against your thumb. Then look for notch on damper pulley and slowly keep cranking until the notch is aligned with the pointer. Then remove distributor cap and look to see where the rotor is pointing. Should be at No1 plug tower. It's better to use a helper when doing this. Even though you have fire and fuel it may not be firing on the right stroke. You need to check your plug wires to see if they're in the right firing order. This depends on how your rotor rotates and they should go to the plugs in this firing order 1-5-3-6-2-4. Hal
