I agree that warm is good. However, if it has been sitting for 25 years as this one has, the only way to make it warm is build a fire around it. I can go with the heat on the plug as you suggest. But, I have problem quinching it with water. I am afraid that I might crack the block. I went out there and got it real hot with a torch today...let it cool and then took it out with a square easy out as you suggested. The heat did it.
