I believe Tel-a-Depth is the hydraulic system that controls the fast hitch on '60 series Farmall tractors (240, 340, 460, 560), and maybe even the 3 point and fast hithes on later series tractors as well.

Earlier fast hitch controls were just regular hydraulic valves that you moved back and forth to raise and lower the hitch. Pulling back raised the hitch, pushing forward lowered the hitch, and the when you let go, the lever automatically centered.

The Tel-a-depth control lever stays wherever you leave it, and indicates the position of the hitch. All the way forward is all the way down, and all the way back is all the way up.
