Don: Must have been a tight fisted bunch of tobacco growers around Tillsonburg. They also bought a lot of those tractors without drawbars, I doubt if they saved much on that either. This 140 tractor was down in Rutherford. I'm originally from Nova Scotia, and down there dairy farmers bought a lot of these tractors. A lot of Super A's sold down there with 6' side mount mowers. I had seen the ocasional A with non adjustable front axle. All Super A, 100, 130 and 140 down there would have had adjustable front axle, PTO, belt pulley and drawbar or fast hitch. In the early days we used them for mowing, then as tractors got larger and haybines came along, we kept the little offsets for raking and general chores. Great little tractor for going over fences in spring. You can sell a set of cultivators down there and let me assure you it is a sellers market. Probably less than 15% of offsets down there were sold new with cultivators. Now you can probably buy a side mount mower down there for $50. to $100. A lot of those mowers have gone for scrap.

I can think of a few common, ordinary sounds in my daily life, too.
