well the problem is not where you think it is it is more then likely down in the MCV as maybe a stuck flow control valve low pressure from the MCV pump blowen gskt in the MCV stuck pressure regulator valve weak springs in the MCV can't say for sure as i am not there to put the gauges to it and pull some valves and look . Heck it could be just air locked , didn't happen to change hdy. filter did ya . Try this and see what happens , run the engine at around 2100 rpm and turn the steering wheel to the left non stop for about a min . or two and see if it is just and air lock if this ain't it HUSTON YOU GOT A PROBLEM .
