jagar: If you distributor is not turning, most likely it is a small gear and shaft within the drive housing onto which the distributor mounts. That distributor drive gear is very small compared to timing gears. These give trouble when not lubricated as per the manual. It could be timing gears, however the best way to check is make sure the distributor shaft is not turning as the engine turns over. If that is so, then remove valve cover to see if valves are operating as they should every revolution of the engine. That will tell you where the problem is.
