2404 Utility Tractor

A friend of mine is considering buying a 2404 for a chore tractor on a small farm. What is the history of this tractor good or bad? The hour meter shows 4700 hours and it starts and runs like a new one. The only obvious problem is an oil leak under the dash related to the steering pump that needs fixed. Any advice is appreciated. The plate below the steering wheel shows #7900754 any clue as to what year it may be?Thanks
