I've painted a bunch of tractors and I used to use acrylic enamels with a good hardener like the stuff from your IH dealer but I switched to using Acrylic urethanes like Dupont Imron. You will find that it covers better so you will use less paint, it is MUCH more resistant to gas, oil, antifreeze etc.. and it continues to shine without clear coat or wax. Economicly you will find that it is not any more expensive than using a good enamel.
My local auto parts store has Case IH red Imron on the shelf. $79 for the pigment and $23 for the catalyst. Once you try it I think you will see it is worth the money. Just my opinion.
