Use #14 soild core wire
Make about 30 turns on each leg
Observe winding direction
Place keeper bar across ends of magnet (keeper should be cast iron but steel should work)
Touch wire ends to 6 volt battery for 1 to 2 seconds
Slide keeper off both ends of the magnet at the same time
Double check polarity- trademark side should attract the needle of a compass (north
