Can't tell ya on a Farmall, but on Dad's John Deere 60 and the JD3010, both had roll-o-matic narrow fronts, you could mount the rim on the hub with the dish in or the dish out. Seems to me that Dad had me mount dish-out (widest) on the 3010 that was used as a loader tractor, before he got a 4020 WF. But they had to be turned dish-in (narrowest) to mount the cultivator or the cornpicker.
