I replaced one on my brother's 856. I don't remember what finally worked, but you could, as a LAST resort, cut the tie rod end off, set the tube on end an use a hyraulic bottle jack to push it down into the tube. What to press against though is up to you to find. This worked for me when I freed up the steering on his haywagon. Keep and open mind and try anything once, but be safe about it.
