If you are going to use the GAS AX Then heat it up good and hot and then dump it into water as this will chrush the rust and take a hammer and tap up and down and all around the tube whiel adding penatrating fluid to it sometimes ya have to get them to go in before they will come out and yes they can try you state of mind i have had some real tough one's but have always got them to come apart and other trick is , now here i go giving away trade secrets drill it tap it to 1/4-28 and put a grease fitting in the tube below the rod and put the grease gun to it and PUMP It out act's like a hdy press from the inside.
