Most likely the hub has been busted out of the cam gear. It's not an unusual failure on these engines equipped with a live hydraulic pump. Another possibility is the nut holding the gear onto the camshaft was improperly secured in the previous repair. It then worked loose causing the key in the cam gear hub to shear. Whatever the problem the front end will have to come off the engine to fix it. Figure $150 or so for new cam gear if needed. ---- Tip: If you decide do get this tractor and make repairs, check the live pump relief valve setting before you use the hydraulics. If the valve set to high (or if it has been removed) it will overstress and quickly bust the cam gear.
