To add power steering, you need the p/s unit and the "priority valve", which I think IH called a flow control valve, which makes sure you have steering even when raising or lowering implements. Your manual steering gearbox is probably leaking where the "freeze plug" presses in to the housing at the end of the steering shaft. It's a $2 item, but to replace it you have to remove the steering gearbox, which involves removing the steering wheel, dash, and gas tank, not difficult, but more work that it seems like it should be. If the tractor doesn't have a front end loader, I don't think I'd bother with p/s if I was selling next spring, except that it will be loads easier to sell with p/s. I haven't seen the side emblems for the 300U anywhere, so e-bay is probably your best bet.
