If it needs ether or any other form of help starting when it's above 40 degrees, it's getting tired. Those old 310's always were a bit hard starting, but if you had a tank heater installed and planned ahead and plugged it in a few hours before you needed the tractor they would start no problem. Ether does nothing but cause problems.
