I was watching one of my older cows as she calved about a week ago. All was fine and she was doing her job. She cleaned up the calf and as he tried to stand here comes another calf about a month older and tries to ride the poor little fella. Every time he'd try to get up this other calf would knock him down and then try to get to the old girls bag... Well I yanked on boots and headed out to the corral. the offending calf was out of a first calf heiffer and as looked himover I realized how fat and slick he was... Now his mother didn't have that good a bag so I really started watching.. That little sh-t had figured out that he could run over those younger calves and then bum milk form their moms.... Needless to say he and his mom are now out of the corral and penned alone... Even in nature one will try to take advantage.. Tallperson
