Yes, If the guides are less than .002 measured lateral movement on the stem, I would put Perfect circle seals on it (with air pressure to the cylinder when it is at TDC, and held there so the valves cannot drop into the cylinder) the spring can be removed and seals installed without head removal. A spell of ideling, (or down hill in high with the throttle closed) will pull in oil. Then when the throttle is opened, it will smoke like a green wood fire. If it smokes under load for as long as it is loaded I would re ring it, (or a piston/sleeve kit) JimN
