I'm amazed at how many people don't understand the concept of "serial number..." Serial means "in a series," and a serial number is a unique number in a series that makes a single specific unit uniquely identifiable. In other words, every tractor of a particular model has a unique serial number. Serial number lists, like the one to the left side of this page, do not list the only serial numbers. They list the FIRST serial number used each year. If yours comes between the first number for one year, and the first number for the next year, then your tractor was built in that year. There were close to 300,000 Ms made, so listing each and every serial number would make the list very long and difficult to use.
