Problem: Hydraulic oil is dripping out of the end caps of the valves for the remotes after having overhauled them. Background: Neither of my remotes were working properly and puking massive amounts of oil from the end cap and elsewhere. One had no detents.. the lever just flopped around. The other was real tight but only in one position. I pulled them off and apart. On the one with no detents, the assembly with the detent balls had unscrewed from the spool valve. The other only had only one ball in the detent assembly. Overhaul: I replaced all the o-rings and the missing balls. That inlcudes the little piston in the center of the detent assembly. You can't buy that tiny o-ring separate. As far as I could see, everything else seemed OK. No unnatural looking wear on anything. Question: Why is it still leaking out those little caps? The remotes work great now. The caps on the ends are pretty wimpy, just a snapped in little chrome cap like you would use to cover a hole in a dashboard. Could they be replaced with something a bit more substantial that sealed? Or do I have another problem? Many thanks!
