i agree with jed i have a 350 diesel it does start hard if battery is not fully charged or wires or conection is bad they will not crank over fast enough i found that if i parked on a slite grade and roll started it it would fire right up with ease
i had starter rebuilt and new wires and cranked up my regulator so it would charge it right up good it will start much easier
