The 444 is certainly a mainstay of the era. Lots are still doing heavy work. You'll have to decide for yourself if its worth the price. As far as the hydraulics go. I have a B250 (a much earlier predecessor)which also came with a trip bucket. I am not sure how the 444 powers the steering but I ran the main hydraulic line from the pump through a bank of control valves then let it continue on. Off those control valves I ran my loader, bucket and a remote. It wasn't hard, just messy, but in the end it tidied up the system.
