I recently had a 428 Ford block pinned on the water jacket with great success. While at the machine shop, I saw a couple of cylinder heads that had been repaired in the same manner. The machinist told me they have had great success with the pinning process. I would definitely leave it to the professionals however. Allen does make a good point though. If a replacement head can be found at a reasonable price, I would suggest that...but having it pinned is a viable option. I was a bit skeptical having my block fixed in this manner, but trying to come up with a 428 block is getting tougher and tougher...so I had it pinned. I run that particular car on a 12# cap and have yet to see so much as moisture in the vicinity of the repair. Good luck! Billy
