Check both ends of the battery cables, make sure there clean brite and tite. Also if the cables are the auto type cables replace them with the right size cables. The auto type are #4 and theres just not enough cable to carry the heavy amps needed to turn over a 6 volt starter. You need 0 or bigger cables on 6 volt systems. If that doesn't work then you probably have a weak/bad starter and its drawing to many amps and not letting the distutor have enough to fire the plugs at the same time.
