Dont know about where youre from but in SC we do it because there just simply isnt a ample supply of 6 volt batteries.When you can find on they want an arm and leg for it.Changing it over just simply means easier battery replacement.I do have one tractor that is still 6 volt and it starts right up every time,but if the battery ever goes dead,Ill have to wait a week or so just to get a new one.Good thing its a show tractor.If my M was still 6 volt I couldnt afford to wait on a battery.Not that I would do this but even Wal-Mart has batteries if I ever need one.It just makes more sence to me,personally,to change over.
