Another thing to try. Take the whole unit and put it in a big pot of water. Pot on the stove and SLOWLY heat it up to a nice simmer. Not a rolling boil; that is too hot. Remember that is a canning jar and is made to take the heat. Lift it out with tongs and give her a try. Jeffcat
