Starting at the Gas cap: Make sure it is vented and the vent is open. Look in the tank, if ugly and rusty it must be removed and cleaned. (vheck the archives here for many ideas on how) clean the sediment bowl under the tank, (and the screen above that in the opening) Free flowing fuel into a container at soda straw sized flow rate. Remove fuel line at carb and clean screen located there. Blow through line with air pressure. Pull the bottom off of the carb and be sure the needle and seat are not plugged up with flakes of rust or junk. These are the foundations of the cause. A bad coil can make the sympton if it is getting too hot to touch. Good luck, as the gas cap says "buy clean fuel keep it clean". Let us know what happens it helps all to know the results. JimN
