Jack: If you put a double alternator pulley from 1980s GM V8 engines, it gives you space needed. By using the outer pulley this allows you to move the alternator back just enough to clear. On my tractor I just welded a flat plate on old generator mount and welded two tabs on plate for alternator mounting bolt to go through. Give yourself enough space to put a couple of washers between tabs and alternator, it gives you a chance to align belt better. Basically my alternator sits on that flat plate. My alternator also sits in within 1/2 of engine block with belt tight. I had to change the belt to one about 1" shorter. If you want to e mail me I should have a decent photo scanned of this. I did SA, 130 and 140 all the same way, thus the photo you get may not be SA but they are all the same.

I’m par
