My pump runs about 2000 rpm at full throttle and puts out around 16 gallons per minute at that speed. I think I get around 1000 psi out of it before the belt slips. It runs the power steering and hydraulics flawlessly. A person could probably get by with 10 GPM without the power steering. My pump is a Cross brand, specifically designed for the side loading of the shaft by belt tension. For comparison purposes, a Super M pump puts out 1200 psi at 12 gallons per minute. Many of the transmission drive pumps (460/560 and up) are only around 15 GPM, but put out more pressure. If I were to do it over, I would like to try a dual-stage log splitter pump just to see how it would work. I would also go with a cogged belt drive - the cost of pulleys was prohibitive at the time I set mine up.
