Yesterday was a great day for me, went to the stroke clinic, met with neurologist, had an echo Cardiogram and the diagnosis is excellent. I do have a few side effects from the meds, they dilate the blood vessels in my eyes and give me a blurred periphial vision, am assured that will disappear over time as my body gets used to the meds. The one thing they stressed at the clinic is that..STROKES ARE PREVENTABLE, NO ONE NEEDS TO HAVE A STROKE....if you don't know what your blood pressure is as you read my post, you could be in trouble..my friends get your blood pressure checked.. the nurse at work, the drugstore, the walk in clinic, book a physical, get an appointment with your doctor . If you have high cholesterol it can be managed quickly with drugs.....look at your life and your world and try to imagine what it would be like if you couldn't speak,or walk, or use your hand...I got the hell scared out of me and I realize how lucky I was..whatever the doctor says is what I am going to do, I got a second chance at life! I will advocate this forever, you may even get sick of hearing it and if you do just e-mail me and tell me what your blood presure is, tell your spouse, your friends at work, your neighbours, your in laws, anyone you can because STROKES ARE AVOIDABLE..take care tractor neighbours..Mike in Exeter Ontario
