Farmall 400 hydraulic question..

Today I got my 400 out to mow off the fields. As I hitched up my bushhog and raised the hitch, it wouldn"t lower back down. Basically my FH hyraulic cylinder is stuck in an extended postition. I am sure I can get the cylinder to go back in by bleeding the line, but is there something I am missing? Is there an easier way to get my hitch to lower?
