This must be a hot topic based on all the replies. I don't change my tractors to 12 volts because I am a purist and want all my tractors like original. My Farmall A and Super C crank over very well with a 6 volt battery. My Super H has the "Power Pac" step pistons and with the increased compression it has a hard time turning over with a 6 volt battery. It takes technique, but it always starts even in the coldest weather in Wisconsin. I don't know where everyone is buying their 6 volt batteries, but here they are the same price as the lower cost 12 volt batteries (about $35) in the local Fleet Farm store (If you can't buy it at Fleet Farm God didn't mean for you to have it anyway). Just thought I would also add two more cents.
