Since you know how wide the tires need to be (ideally 30" from center of tire to center of tractor), measure what you have now, and how much axle you have left to slide the wheels in. Subtract the axle you have left from what you have now.

It can be more than 30", but not a whole lot more, maybe 4". I think you'll be okay if the measurement to the outside of the tire is 42" or less.

Hmm, 42" + 42" is 84", or 7 feet... You will probably have to dish the wheels in, I guess.
