Fred: A lot will depend on how sharp the angle of the pto shaft is. I've never used that type of setup for a finish mower. Years ago I used a 130 bushel pto driven manure spreader. With that I used to offset the drawbar a bit to the left of center. With the manure spreader there was a bit of a trade off. 130 bu spreader is quite a big load for one of these little tractors and I found if I set drawbar too far left, the side pull caused real problems. I also baled a bit of hay when larger tractors were busy. If you can cut the angle of the pto shaft, enough so it doesn't click in the U joints it should work. The other item I'd look for is some way of setting mower back from tractor, even a trailer type mower. A longer shaft will reduce that angle in the drive line. There is no question you will have a higher maintainence drive line than one that is straight to tractor pto. There are hundreds of guys using them, and that many folks can't be wrong.
